Where do I get equipment?
You can borrow equipment from UW programs! This includes DXARTS, the Communication department, and STLP. These are all free resources that are covered by the UW student technology fee.
Learn more about DXARTS’ equipment reservation procedures here.
Contact comeq@uw.edu to create an account for equipment reservations from the Communication department.
STLP is now open for reservations. See here for more information; be sure to set an appointment after you reserve equipment!
Here are a few places in Seattle to pay for equipment rentals:
Northwest Camera Co. (Unbeatable selection, some of the fairest rates, generous discounts)
Glazer’s Rentals (Great selection, decent rates, good start--no higher-end gear like Arri or Red)
Victory Studios (Not a lot of selection, slightly more affordable rates)
Koerner Camera (Modest selection, high rates, but very knowledgeable staff--go in-person!)
Borrow Lenses (Online service will ship equipment to you. Huge selection, great rates, but required to rent equipment for 3 days or more)
Oppenheimer Cine Rental (Professional gear– you will have to call them to get their rates)
